My first experience with art was when I was in 5th grade. We had a drawing assignment and I drew a flower. I remember thinking how great it was that I could draw the flower and it looked pretty good! In high school I took up photography and had my own darkroom. Fast forward to my early 30's and I took my first drawing class at community college. That was the beginning of my artistic life. I earned a BA degree in art and made and sold porcelain jewelry, hand blocked and dyed hats and photography in both retail and arts & craft show settings. I went on to do collage art and was published in several magazines. My background in ceramics led me to glass fusing and combining glass with clay. Having a life long interest in learning new things, in 2010, I started painting in oils, watercolors, pastels and encaustics. I am affiliated with several fine art groups and have earned awards for my photography and painting.
